Additionally, I received the Alas y Raíces stimulus as an educator for the Laboratorios de Arte Lúdico program in Morelos (2023). I was also awarded the IBERESCENA grant to organize the Casa Abierta Festival in Oaxaca (2020-2021). With over 10 years of experience as a performing artist and educator, I have participated in festivals such as Cuerpo al Descubierto Festival, La Carpa, Gala del Premio Nacional de Danza at Palacio de Bellas Artes, and Encuentro de las Artes (Mexico); Dança à Deriva Festival (Brazil), Prisma Festival (Panama), Detonos Festival (Colombia), Rambla Festival (Guatemala), Movimiento Continuo Festival (Colombia), Newport Dance Festival (USA), and RADFest (USA), among others. In 2024 I was invited as a guest choreographer for the Boston Dance Theater Trainee Company.

I am a finalist for the Lab Artists Program 2025 by the Chicago Dancemakers Forum.

Artist statement

My work explores the emotional connections between humans and nature through movement, floor work, and improvisation. Last year, I created CHINELA, a project that celebrates the resilience of women by blending movement, visual arts and music. It captures a spectrum of emotions—from joy to anger—in response to systemic violence embedded in our culture.

I am deeply interested in the emotional bonds we form, both with one another and with the earth. My work challenges the utilitarian mindset that often shapes our relationships with nature and within society. Collaborating with diverse artists and communities across Latin America has profoundly influenced my creative process, reinforcing my commitment to rejecting hierarchies and resisting the commodification of nature. This journey has led me to explore the deep interconnectedness between humans, the environment, and our ancestral roots.

Currently, I am focused on cultivating common ground and discovering ways to nurture and support one another—both as individuals and as a collective.
